Your cholesterol numbers are only mildly raised for your age, which is exactly the kind of result many doctors manage with diet and exercise for a few months before deciding on long-term medication. A statin like this isn't automatically a lifetime tablet; some people only need it short-term once lifestyle changes bring the numbers down, while others continue longer depending on other risk factors such as family history.
Next Steps
Go back to your prescribing doctor with this exact question, since starting now versus trialling lifestyle changes first depends on your full risk picture, not this report alone. Meanwhile cut fried food and added sugar, add daily exercise, and recheck your lipid profile after about three months.
Health Tips
Don't stop or skip the tablet on your own once you've started it; any change to the plan should go through your doctor.
