Hi... Trauma changes the brain in a manner which is hard to undo later. It is always better to seek therapy for such issues early. Try to understand this, your subconscious/unconscious mind is still processing events (physical/mental) based on the scars caused by that trauma. Some people heal with time and some find it difficult to heal those scars on their own. This varies for the same person in different phases/incidences in his life. We tend to derive strength by recovering on our own but it is not always the right approach. Try to find a good therapist around you and be consistent with your therapy. It usually takes 6-8 months to 1 year to completely overcome the set back and trauma caused by such an event.
