If your cat is not vaccinated then you must go for vaccination, as you don't wanna end up with rabies even if the chances are minimum.

I understand your concern regarding rabies after a cat bite, especially after seeing information online. Let me clarify the facts for you. 1. Risk of Rabies from a Cat Bite (After 1 Year) If your cat was healthy 10–14 days after the bite, it did not have rabies at that time, and you are safe. Rabies has a variable incubation period, but a delay of 5 years is extremely rare. Most cases develop within weeks to months after exposure. 2. Should You Get Vaccinated Now? Post-exposure rabies vaccination (PEP) is only effective if given soon after a bite (within 10 days). Getting the vaccine now will not help if the virus was already introduced into your body a year ago. However, if you frequently handle animals or are at risk of another bite, pre-exposure vaccination may be beneficial. 3. What Should You Do? If you are completely symptom-free after one year, your chances of having rabies are virtually zero. If you experience neurological symptoms (tingling, confusion, fear of water, unusual behavior), seek medical attention immediately. If you are still worried, I strongly recommend a consultation to assess your situation properly.
