Pain in outside of the knee when running

When i run for more than a kilometre pain starts. Pain increases if i climb or come down from stairs later. However, pain vanishes within a week. When i start running again pain comes back. This is happening to me since 1.5 years. Please help

More likely to be knee ligament/meniscus/cartilage related problem. Try quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises. Analgesic SOS

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. Please Get an MRI of knee done , u may have meniscus or ligment injury
