The photograph is bot clear in the area of concern. An evaluation of the teeth adjacent to the lesion is required to rule out any sharp edges of tooth/ restorations.

Your tongue seems to be inflamed. Filliform papillae seem to be inflamed. Black mark not much clear in the picture. You need to give a detailed history of associated symptoms for better diagnosing your problem. Do you feel rough/lumpy in your tongue? Any burning sensation or difficulty eating spicy? Are you a pure vegetarian? Best would be if you could visit an oral medicine specialist. However, to discuss your symptoms you can tele consult.

Get an intraoral examination done . Also, get the area scanned with the help of a velscope. Velscope will be able to see the changes that are not visible to the naked eyes. Avoid any treatment without proper diagnosis.

Hi, Please share a clear detailed history of your query. Are you experiencing any burning sensation ? I suggest you get a clinical examination done by the dentist. The black mark in the picture is not very clear.
