Rash and inflammation of the tongue including loss of taste is a common finding in most diseases like viral fever, etc. Resolving the main problem is required to treat the tongue symptoms. Until then, however, local anesthetic gels before eating can help. Any gel that contains Lidocaine (eg mucopain) can be used.
