Get it checked as soon as possible.You might need to get the capping removed to decompress that area if pus has formed.

Greetings. The pain could be due to reinfection of root canal treated tooth or also could be a referred pain from adjacent tooth. Do not ignore the pain.

You need to visit a dentist and get an xray done of that tooth. The description that you have mentioned is insufficient to provide a rational diagnosis at this point without a look at the present clinical condition. The pain can be due to re infection in the tooth (which can happen even after root canal treatment) or can be due to infection in any other tooth or the gums near that area in which a vague pain is felt in an area and it is sometimes difficult to isolate the exact origin of the pain. Please visit your dentist and get a check up done. They would take an x ray to verify that there is no infection. If there is infection remaining or recurring then they would do a re RCT for you.
