My dentist said upper front teeth with large cavity needs extraction. Needed a second opinion about it. Is it the only option?

Hi If you are willing to save the teeth, then go for Root Canal Treatment, followed by Post and Core buildup. Always use extraction of teeth as a last resort.
Next Steps
Visit an Endodontist.

Yes. Extraction should be done. Even if the tooth is saved, there won't be enough support for cap.

Hi. Through X ray it can be seen that there is resorption which is starting in the root portion. If that is the case, then prognosis  ( recovery chances) of that tooth will be poor. Is there any mobility of the tooth? Everything has to be considered to plan further.
Next Steps
Visit a endodontist at the earliest and plan accordingly.
Health Tips
Don't postpone it. Take care.
