Left nipple pain from 2 months

My husband is complaining of nipple pain from last two months. There are no physical changes in the way his skin or tissues look. Looks absolutely fine. But wherever he tries to touch his left nipples, he struggles in pain. This is exactly in the areola region. He is overweight. Please suggest a remedy.
