Incomplete defecation

Unable to pass clear, complete stool. My diet has not changed. But the urge is 10-20% throughout the day for 2 days now. The stool is sticky whenever I pass it. It was all good 2 weeks ago. Previous issues - ibs, ulcers in both upper and lower gi. Stool was good and it changed now. I have to poke my fingers in my anus to get the stool out, the anal opening remains half open, or u can say I am able to insert finger to get the stool out, it's soft and not hard. Once the rectum/anus empties, I can no longer insert finger (just to give you an idea, I do not forcefully poke my finger). What could be the reasons for this?

Needing to help stool out with a finger after a sudden change from your usual pattern, especially with your history of IBS and GI ulcers, suggests the rectum or anal canal isn't emptying fully on its own right now. This can happen with a stricture from old ulcers, weak coordination between the rectal and anal muscles, or a partial blockage, rather than plain constipation.
Next Steps
Please see a gastroenterologist in person soon, who can do a rectal exam and possibly anorectal function testing, rather than trying more fibre or over-the-counter options on your own given your ulcer history.
Health Tips
Seek care sooner if you develop bleeding, fever, inability to pass gas, or worsening abdominal swelling.
