Fever with cold in a 2-year-old is very common, and in most cases it is due to a viral infection. Usually it settles in 3–5 days with supportive care. What You Can Do at Home 1) Fever control Give Paracetamol 15 mg/kg per dose Can repeat every 6 hours if needed Do not exceed 4–5 doses in 24 hours (Example: If child weighs 12 kg → dose ≈ 180 mg per dose) Avoid giving multiple fever medicines together unless advised. 2) For Cold Saline nasal drops 3–4 times daily Steam inhalation (mild, supervised) Keep child well hydrated Continue normal diet and breastfeeding if applicable 3) General Care Light clothing Lukewarm sponging if fever is high Ensure good fluid intake **See a Doctor Immediately If: Fever > 102°F and not reducing Breathing fast or chest retractions Continuous vomiting Child very dull / not responding Convulsions Fever lasting more than 3–4 days
