Root canal was done four months back in hyderabad but the problem is instead of cap my doctor did temporary filling now the filling is gone and space has formed. Is there any permanent solution for this. Kindly help me.
If there is no pain while applying pressure on the tooth. Get the crown(capping) over the tooth that's the parmanent solution. It would provide strength to the tooth.

Yes. As far as things are concerned plz get an X-ray done to check whether any reinfection is present in the teeth in which root canal is being done. If everything seems fine. The. Proceed with a permanent filling and a crown for getting the tooth back to its normal shape and contour. So that it could serve its function for YOU.

A temporary filling is generally placed only for a week and has to be changed to permanent filling followed by a crown.if a filling is gone and the tooth is open for a period of more than 6 months ,it is generally advised to get a root canal treatment redone followed by a permanent filling and a crown to make sure that it is fine.of course, this is an absolute foolproof plan and the call for retreatment depends on the dentist you consult.it is not mandatory but is nevertheless a safer long term alternative.hope this helps.
Next Steps
consult an Endodontist(root canal specialist).
Health Tips
a ceramic crown is not mandatory.the material for the crown is not important.if you are conscious about your appearance only then go for ceramic.
We require to do permanent filling on the root canal treated teeth! Before that we need to take X-ray and see the condition of the remaining tooth structure and root canal filling! If filling is more then the original tooth structure then we need to place crown also!!! Do it soon! All the best
Hi mam ,ideally after the root canal treatment you should put cap as soon as possible as there are chances of tooth breakage & temporary filling coming out .
Next Steps
X ray should be taken(lead apron should be worn to prevernt radiation exposure) to evaluate the root canal filling & if filling is good then permanent filling should be done followe by cap.
Health Tips
After cap is put area should be kept clean with interdental brush
Hello,
Mam,
As a Root canal specialist I advice you to get a permanent core build up done followed by a crown for this tooth ASAP.It may get reinfected or chances of fracture are high if you leave it without a cap.Regards.Dr Sumanmakam,DentalArts,Jayanagar 5th block,Bangalore.
1st of all, visit your nearest dentist get your x-ray done by wearing lead apron (if delivery not happened), if it is not complete, continue with treatment, If your root canal is completed, go for permanent (silver) filling
Next Steps
Get crown to that tooth, it is necessary
Health Tips
flossing required in adjacent teeth, to remove food particles after crowning
Dear Maam !. The Doctor might have not completed your Treatment due to your Pregnancy if any. Please visit your Dentist and complete your treatment when you have weaned your Child onto Baby milk from the market.
Next Steps
1. This applies to you only if you are still Breastfeeding. Avoid certain Drugs like antibiotics and treatments like Root Canal as this can affect the Milk.
2. Check with a dentist for Temporary filling if your still not crossed your Breastfeeding stage.
3. Complete your treatment with Cap only after you have weaned your child.
Hi
If your root canal is fine and you have no symptoms like pain or sensitivity in that tooth , then you can follow up with a dentist and get a permanent filling done followed with cap.
