In case of CVST and high triglycerides and looking at the ongoing anticoagulant therapy, diet rich in nutrients tailored for his needs may help him recover better. Below are some general recommendations: - Include more omega-3 rich foods like walnuts, flaxseeds, chia seeds and fatty fish which will help reduce the triglyceride levels and support heart health. It will also help prevent the formation of blood clots. - Healthy fats such as nuts and oilseeds, ground nut oil, mustard oil in moderation will help reduce inflammation and clotting. Reduce the intake of fried foods. - Limit the intake of added sugars and refined carbs such as sweets, bakery foods and refined flour.

For a 26-year-old female patient with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and high triglycerides who is taking anticoagulants, the diet should help brain recovery and control lipids safely. Some foods can interact with blood thinners, so balance and consistency are important. Eat small regular meals that include complex carbohydrates such as oats, brown rice, and millets. Include healthy fats from walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds. Avoid fried, bakery, or sugary foods. Take good-quality protein from lentils, eggs, or fish if your doctor allows. Keep your vitamin K intake consistent with moderate use of green leafy vegetables. Drink enough water, about two and a half to three liters daily. Use less salt to protect the brain and blood vessels. Avoid alcohol, smoking, and excess coffee. If weakness, gum bleeding, or bruising occurs, inform the doctor quickly. These may mean the anticoagulant effect is too high. For a customized meal plan that fits your medicines, book a consult on Practo.
