Metal ceramic crowns last, if he cannot give up hard things u have 2options - for for metal crowns or go for all ceramic monolithic crowns these 2 r most resistant to breakage. Other wise the treatment he's already taken is done so let him enjoy is food. Crowns can always be replaced if damaged, take care.

Hard as in not metal , i hope ;) Rest normal food can be consumed with fixed teeth Pfm works fine too
