Two things to note:
1. If your mother’s
creatinine was previously normal and now it high, this needs assessment to see why this happened.
**If the patients creatinine was previously normal then For most patients it is usually due to dehydration or an infection somewhere in their body. For some patients this happens either because they recently took some new medications that didn’t agree with the kidneys or that their urine bladder is not emptying properly. So if this is the case with your mother, need to see a doctor and get the triggers checked and treated.
**If the patients creatinine was previously elevated then, it needs a different approach. Blood pressure and blood
sugar check and its treatment. Urine test for ACR/PCR. Ultrasound scan of kidneys and urine bladder. See a
kidney doctor for treatment plan to prevent any worsening of kidney function in the future.
2. Potassium level in the blood test was a bit high at 5.1
**Please have it tested again and also ask them to check Bicarbonate level in the blood.
If the potassium level is rising, Must get her seen by a doctor to see if she needs her medications checking and also she may need to be given Sodium Bicarbonate tablets.
Hope this helps.
All the best.
