Hi
Main cause of bleeding gums in a healthy individual would be deposits present on teeth as well as below your gums. The treatment of choice in these cases are Scaling to remove the deposits both below and above the gums. When there are huge deposits formed on teeth, they start to move the gums lower than where they are supposed to be and this happens gradually. Because of this gradual shift, you would have not noticed that the gums are at a lower position than where they are supposed to be. Since scaling has removed major part of the calculus, you are seeing the gap between your teeth. The gums will revert back provided the treatment is completed and you maintain proper oral hygiene practices. As far as changing the dentist is concerned, the Dentist has done what exactly had to be done, and you can continue with your dentist.
