Betnesol Injection During Pregnancy

Hello I am 34 weeks pregnant currently no issues have been diagnosed as of now there are no complications or issues as per my recent scan too..but my doctor has suggested to take betnesol injection for lung maturity of baby but I am bit concerned as it's a steroid and moreover I don't have any indication of preterm labour.. please suggest me ahead.

Betamethasone is a steroid that is used for lung maturity of fetus.You should have asked about the reason for betamethasone. Some institutes give this as precaution for preterm

A steroid injection at this stage of pregnancy is typically given when there is a possibility of an early delivery, to help the baby's lungs mature ahead of time. If your obstetrician has advised it, they are protecting the baby in case of any early birth.

Injection is for lung maturity of baby . Some prescribe it as a prophylactic treatment. Its safe though.
