After the BCG vaccination small swelling like this appears and that is natural. The swelling increases for about two weeks after the injection and later it may become a pus point.. And then it bursts open and discharges some pus . this is also not to be worried.later it heals by forming a thin scar. this is the natural course of BCG vaccination. The whole process may take 4 to 6 weeks.

The usual expected reaction to BCG vaccination is redness and/or a small lump at the injection site, followed by a small ulcer (open sore) a few weeks later (usually less than 1 cm in diameter). The ulcer may last from a few weeks to months before healing to a small flat scar.
