Hello. This pattern is very harmful for liver, stomach and overall health and vomiting is a warning. Please consult psychiatrist or the addiction specialist at the earliest. Do not try to stop suddenly your own as alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous .

There are specific De-addiction Centres. He should seek consultation in those centres. At the present rate of drinking he is definitely harming himself.

Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician Hello, Thank you for sharing your concerns about your husband’s drinking habits. It’s clear this pattern is affecting his health and causing distress for both of you. Drinking alcohol continuously for a week, without eating or drinking water properly, and experiencing vomiting is very harmful to his body. This cycle can lead to serious complications affecting the liver, digestive system, and overall well-being. Since this behavior has been ongoing since his teenage years, it suggests a possible dependence on alcohol, which can be difficult to overcome alone. What can be done: Encourage your husband to seek medical evaluation to assess the impact on his health, including liver function and nutritional status. Support from addiction specialists or counselors can provide strategies and treatment to help reduce or stop alcohol use. Family support is crucial in this process, and professional guidance can help you both navigate this challenge. If he is open, I can help guide him through this journey and provide medical support. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss further or explore options for care and support. Take care, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician

Hello Your husband’s prolonged use of alcohol might be affecting other organs than just the liver. Is there blood in his vomiting or just water? If there is blood, you should consult the medicine department of the nearest hospital as there might be microscopic tears in his food pipe. Then you need to consult a psychiatrist and they will start him on alcohol detoxification medications. But please do not buy medications yourself and do not leave him without alcohol and without treatment as his alcohol use seems severe and there might be chances of seizure if he goes too long without alcohol and medications.
Next Steps
Take him to the hospital where he will be admitted for 1-2 weeks until stable
Health Tips
Do NOT get him any medicine on your own without your doctor’s permission.

He needs to understand the worst-case scenario of chronic alcohol-related liver problems and their consequences. Then he needs deaddiction to get out of this. It is a bigger process.
Next Steps
Do liver function test, serum amylase and lipase for pancreatitis and sugar levels.
Health Tips
If any of this mildly abnormal also.convince him for deaddiction

compel him to taper down the amount of alcohol intake as immediate withdrawal can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as headache, anxiety and sleeplessness,so it is better to slowly and gradually get rid of alcohol.
Next Steps
Visit rehabilitation center for proper counseling ;do a LFT and FIBRO SCAN to assess liver damage as he is a chronic Alchoholic and see a Hepatologist; FEEL FREE TO CONNECT WITH ME FOR ANY GUIDANCE.
Health Tips
Excessive alcoholic intake can lead to liver cirrhosis, hepatic encaphelopathy, etc.... Which can gradually progress, eventually needing a liver transplant. There are certain drugs which causes disulfiram reactions with alcohol, meaning they will cause severe vomiting when taken after Alchoholic intake, so much that he will never touch alcohol again but that's an in-human way of getting rid of alcohol, CONSULT A DOCTOR if you want to use that method, but I will not recommend that.

Some people do like to enjoy the taste of alcohol without mixing it with anything- called NEAT while not particularly harmful on occassions, but if taken on a regular basis can cause abdominal issues - one of many is vomiting
Next Steps
Though my primary advise would be to avoid alcohol/stop consuption of alcohol/seek help for alcohol dependency. I also know that it is hard to do immediately. Until that is acheived, my advise would be to Encourage diluting alcohol with water, having salad with alcohol(cucumber has a lot of water content) For more medical advise- i would be happy to connect
Health Tips
Please look out for blood in vomit/stools
