It can't cause or predict cancer .
It only means that you may have "clotting tendency" which may lead to clotting of blood inside the blood vessels . That may damage the organ depending on the location of clots.

Platelets will be increased because of many reasons such as infection, inflammation, iron deficiency anemia and some cancers (Myeloproliferative neoplasms: Essential thrombocythemia, Chronic myeloid leukaemia, polycythemia Vera). It needs to be evaluated. Please share your complete blood report.
