Hello there. Sorry to hear of this. It would have been helpful to know why you were changed from amitriptyline to fluoxetine. Patients respond differently to different medications with regards to effects and side effects. Also amitriptyline is a more potent medication than fluoxetine. That could perhaps be why you responded better on it. It would be good to discuss with your doctor and if there is no contraindications then perhaps you could shift back to amitriptyline. Best wishes.
Next Steps
Consult with your psychiatrist and explain your difficulty. They will do the needful for you.
Hello Mate,
I have gone through your history.
You have mentioned that you were diagnosed with depression and we’re on Amitriptyline for some time but why you were switched to Fluoxetine, it has not been mentioned.
Most of the time, now a days patients are put on SSRIs like Fluoxetine.
If your medicine was changed because of side- effects, then better don’t go for it . Other wise Fluoxetine can be taken by adjusting the desired dose.
But this should be done under the supervision of a mental health professional.
