Hi , I am suffering from alopecia areta from past two months.
All the blood tests came normal (for sugar, thyroid)
I have been using mometasone furate cream on the patch. The size has been increasing in intervals. Kindly suggest what could be the next step. Can it stop totally at some point of time :(

Talk to experienced dermatologist online and get your health questions answered in just 5 minutes.
Alopecia areata is a autoimmune disease. If you have only one patch then momstesone is enough. If your patches are increasing in size or your getting new patches elsewhere then seek a dermatologist opinion immediately to stop the spread of the disease. As you might be requiring oral medications to stop the progression. And the most important trigger is stress , so stop thinking about it and researching about it a lot and seek a dermatologist help ASAP
