As per the latest MHCA 2017 Act and its provisions, it is not possible to give any meds or treatment without his knowledge. He is suffering from Comorbid Diabetes too, it is not safe to him to give such medications. Better ask your Diabetic treating doctor to educate him or just ask him for opinion of a Psychiatrists. Psychiatrists can do motivational interviewing and some kind of counselling techniques, where he can cut down or treated completely if he agrees. You can opt for Tele consultation from home, if your husband agrees.

Giving medicine in disguise is not generally advisable in this condition because the medicine u r talking about may cause life threatening side effect once it is taken with alcohol…so for to discuss about detail management plan and all other option u have , u need to discuss
