Alcohol de-addiction requires symptomatic management. Depends on the symptoms.

Hi there, I don’t think we should comment on the prescription of others. But what I can do is give some information regarding Alcohol dependence and management. A detailed medical and psychiatric history is needed. Blood tests like CBC and LFT are done. Medical and psychiatric disorders are ruled out by detailed MSE. Initially, drugs are written to get through the withdrawal symptoms which are likely to be present when the patients stop taking alcohol. 2nd phase, the drugs are written to maintain the abstinence phase of the patients. Then drugs are written to prevent the relapse of the alcohol intake.
Next Steps
It is always advisable to take the treatment under the supervision of a mental health professional.A self motivation is needed to get the treatment. Be positive in thoughts. Psychological interventions are also needed in addition to the pharmacological treatment. Do take the help from a mental health professional and have faith and don’t afraid to discuss the problems with him whenever the need comes.
