Hello, With BP of 170/110, you have to start medications in addition to lifestyle modifications. Only Concor will not help you here as it is a second line anti hypertensive agent. You have to start a double drug combination of first line drugs like ARB, CCB or Thiazide like Diuretics. Your medications can stop in long time if you have modifiable risk factors like obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking etc, which you can take care of with good diet and regular exercise. But, if there are no modifiable risk factors, this essential hypertension may need medicines forever. Very important thing is BP medicines are to be taken very regularly. You can not stop it in between because your BP is normal as it is normal because of medicines. Once you stop it it will increase again. So do not stop or change medicines without consulting a doctor. Also you need to do some investigations.
