Hello Doctors,
I am an adult seeking a comprehensive online assessment for possible Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1) and/or ADHD. I have experienced lifelong difficulties with social communication, sensory sensitivities, executive functioning, attention, memory, and daily functioning. These traits have been present since childhood but were never formally evaluated.
Unfortunately, when I have tried discussing this before, some doctors dismissed my concerns simply because I am an adult, saying I am "too old" to have autism or ADHD. From what I understand, many adults are diagnosed later in life, especially if they learned to mask their symptoms.
I am looking for a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist who has experience with adult autism and ADHD assessments and is open to conducting a thorough evaluation online using appropriate diagnostic methods, rather than ruling it out based on age alone.
If you provide such assessments or can guide me, I would really appreciate your response

Adult ADHD is rare but not uncommon. Most people went on undiagnosed due to stigma regarding approaching Psychiatrist for evaluation. From what the symptoms you have explained its difficult to assess whether you are having adhd or some other psychiatric condition.

Yes Autism and ADHD though starts during developmental period but can persist during adulthood.
Adult ADHD can be diagnosed and be treated also .
To diagnose history from parents helps to kw symptoms which u had during ur childhood. During adulthood there is just change in pattern of symptoms which leads to dysfunction in daily living and should be addressed. U do one thing first meet a psychiatrist they will decide and start u on medication. For detailed evaluation they will refer u to psychologist using diagnostic tools which is very well available for adult ADHD too.

Adult ADHD and Autism (Level 1) can definitely be diagnosed in adulthood. A thorough evaluation includes a detailed developmental history, clinical interview, collateral history (if available), and standardized assessment tools. Age alone should never rule out the diagnosis. Wishing you the best with your assessment.
