I totally understand how you feel. It happens to alot of students that they loose interest because of the pressure of competition by the peers leading to depression. You need to consult a professional for changing your methodology of studying and coping with the pressure and stress of doing B.Tech.
Next Steps
Book an appointment with a psychologist asap. All the best. And do not lose hope. You have made it till here, you certainly can make it to the end.
Health Tips

A student always continues to learn. It is natural and ok to face such a dilemma. You are feeling quite uncertain and hence sad. Firstly, everybody has their own journey and shines through. Hence, comparing with other students may not be helpful. It is always better to pause, reassess your direction and then move forward. It is fortunate that you have at least realised that you need to change directions. Kindly continue your college. Connect with your teaching faculty and a career counselor. They will help you to gain momentum retaining your current academic development. Your mindset is your biggest asset. A sharp mind that helps you make a correct choice needs to be appreciated. Write down your thoughts when you feel unsettled. Engage in deep breathing yogasanas, mediation,as these practices shall be your great partners in the healing process, to maintain composure and gain focus. Hope you achieve success with your greatest potential. You can consult for further professional guidance. Happy Healthy Living!

Hi Don’t feel discouraged . Give yourself a chance to find your way forward . There are choices you can make . Feeling sad can lead to other emotions which will not benefit your mental health, emotional as well as physically . Not going to college is not solution . There are a lot of career types and their paths to choose, go for career counselling and get to know the options available according to your abilities and skills to figure out how to translate your interests into career options . Take Personality Assessments tests to help you find out more about who you are and your strengths. This is valuable information for choosing a career, dealing with your strengths and weaknesses to help you gain clarity towards building your academics in the direction of your career . Evaluate your chosen path, ensure that it’s something you desire, are there options wherein you can specialise in . Make use of a career resource center , the career resources show you the skills you need in the field, and the education or training that will prepare you . Can your hobbies could take you to your career.  You can find free online courses in any subject through educational platforms . If you find an interest for a subject, explore careers in those areas through interviews, research, networking, and volunteering to learn what it is to work in related fields.  You should approach a career counsellor, you will get expert advice and will be more likely to take your aptitude test and based on your test results and interests, they will suggest the courses best for you maybe to pursue at a Master’s or other options . Career counselling helps you to identify your interest areas as well as your strengths which you might not be aware of to help you make the right career choice. For eg. your interest lies in a particular career field, but your abilities and skills might not match the requirement or maybe you might have great skills required for a particular field but have no interest in them. Counselling will help reveal the one that would respond well to your aptitude and interest. You just need to focus on the skill you have and gohead with them you will have a bright future if you do hardwork for it . Focus , be confident and stay motivated. You are preparing your skills to Build a career , you can strengthen those skills - through different ways of learning .
Next Steps
Consult a Career Counsellor or Psychologist.
Health Tips
Practice Deep Breathing and Exercising. Have a healthy diet . Build Positivity , motivation and confidence.

Hi , depression is unhelpful negative emotion and sadness is helpful negative emotion . In depression we find our future is hopeless and we are helpless with  excessive rummination while dealing with problem but in sadness we can see hope and one can help  ourself without rummination. If you are in  wrong career in that case you can deal this  issue with depression or sadness upto you . Most of people's are in wrong career but not everyone make themselves depress because they choose healthy non depressing attitude instead of unhealthy depressing attitude.
Next Steps
go for counselling if you want

At this point of time you should talk to your parents and try to convince them that you are on wrong career path. They will understand your problem if you will try because when you spend more time in this course then it will become difficult for you and it also increase your depression.. You are sad because of this conflict so try to solve this conflict.
Next Steps

ChatGPT I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's not uncommon for students to experience doubts about their career path and feel overwhelmed. Consider talking to a counselor or career advisor at your college who can provide guidance on your academic and career choices. Additionally, if you're struggling with your mental health, reaching out to a mental health professional or counselor can offer valuable support and help you navigate these challenges.
