Since 2020, I have developed extreme fear of diseases that can be fatal. One such disease is rabies. Where I live there are lots of stray dogs, cats, monkeys. What chances are there of contracting rabies via indirect routes. Say, if at night in summer I pick up a coin or note that fell from my wallet on the road and after like 5 mins or so accidently touch my eyes or mouth, can I get rabies? Or like today dogs were barking next to my gate and after like half an hour I closed the gates so touched the gate. But I got injured after a few minutes and had blood come out.
I had taken primary immunization of 5 doses, 3 years back and 2 boosters of ARV in January, 2024. Do you think I need to take 2 boosters again to be safe?
