Yes, frequent feeding can be normal, especially in premature babies around term-corrected age. Some babies cluster feed and may wake every 30–60 minutes at times. There is no fixed feeding duration. If baby feeds effectively for around 10–15 minutes on one breast and seems satisfied, that can be enough. Let baby feed on demand. More important signs are: - Good urine output (6–8 times/day) - Weight gain - Baby active between feeds If baby is continuously sleepy, not gaining weight, or tiring during feeds, then physical evaluation is needed.

Greetings 39 weeks corrected age, waking frequently can be normal during growth spurts, but every half hour consistently may indicate inefficient milk transfer.A 10-minute feed can be sufficient if the sucking is active and efficient, as premature babies often tire out quickly at the breast.Ensure she latches deeply and try offering the second breast, or gently wake her if she falls asleep too quickly during feeds.Monitor her output closely; she should have at least 6 wet diapers and regular bowel movements every 24 hours to ensure adequate intake.Keep track of her weight gain with your pediatrician to ensure this feeding pattern is fully supporting her growth and development.
