At 6 months, 2 to 3 semi solid feeds of different varieties and one fruit or vegetable puree, with a schedule, gap of 2.5 or 3 hours between milk and solid feed is important. You should give water after solid feeds and in between. Soap is an age old method of inducing stool to be purged out. If gently kept, no issue, but may be habit forming over time. Better to avoid.
Next Steps
Don't stress yourself too much
Health Tips
Increase the variety of taste of feeds as this increases the intake gradually.
