5 month baby passing loose stool
Hello My baby is 5month old. She is passing loose stools from almost 1 month. She was having pink discharge from her urine 3-4 times. So I did urine and stool tests both. And urine and stool test both came normal. I have shown to doctors but still no improvement. Still is passing runny stool after every feed. As soon as she takes the feed in the middle only she poops. I have tried given Enterogermina and Econorm sachets along with zinc. What to do? Can any1 suggest why is this happening ?

Hi If the urine routine test is normal, probably the  pinkish altered colour is because of the concentrated urine, which can result because of temporary decrease in feeding and dehydration Make sure your child is feeding adequately. You can give additional ORS solution along with the breastfeeding. Continue econorm sachet for total of 5 days and Zinc for 14 days Check weight of the baby. If the loose stools of the baby is significant for 1 month, then the weight would have decreased. If the weight is increasing from before and if the child is active and accepting feeds well, then less to worry and continue with the meds If any of the below warning signs are present, please consult a nearby pediatrician -High grade Fever - Blood in stools - Weight loss or not gaining weight - not passing urine atleast 4 to 5 times a day - Baby not as active and playful as before
