4 months old having loose stool
My son is 4 month 3 weeks old,he is passing loose stool from past 20 days, he pass 3 to 4 time in 24 hours. He is exclusively breastfed , he is active, he is drinking milk without refusing and no fever symptoms. His motion is yellow to green in colour , watery and with muscus. We consulted doc on his 4th day of this she prescribed econorm sachet pinch of it in breast milk for every 3 hours for 4 days and asked me to stop dairy products . But it dint subside.7th day again he passed for 4 times, we rushed to nearby clinic we consulted other doc he changed econorm with sorlac banana sachet and z&d drop, still no improvement. During his 14th day he started to pass green motion with muscus doctor suggested to take stool substance test, it resulted as below Occult blood - absent Reducing sugar- absent Pus cells - 8 to 10 Fat globules - present Motile bacilli - present (Continues in comment please read fully and help please)

Don't worry.. Passing stool 5 to 6 time daily is normal...if baby accepting feed well ,passing urine 6 to 7 times, playful, and weight gain is there. Check perianal area is any excoriation..? If any issue text me.

Most likely it is infective. The baby must have caught infection from somewhere that travelled up the baby’s git.

No need to worry as long as baby accepting feeds well, active, playful, passing urine normally. It's probably gastrocolic reflex and not loose motions. Baby passes motions shortly after Breastfeeding.

It's normal.If the child is feeding well, not lethargic, gaining weight, taking sleep after feeding passing urine adequately then no need to worry. Continue breast feeding
