Hello maam, Firstly please do attach some photos for proper diagnosis. Some reasons for gum swellings are - Gum Disease – This is caused by chronic bacterial infection. The moderate form is called Gingivitis and the severe form is called Periodontitis. Dry mouth – This can be caused by an underlying health condition, so if your child’s gum swelling is due to this, be sure to see their primary care provider. Malnutrition: please make sure your child has proper diet Oral trauma – This can be caused by anything from brushing too hard to accidental falls. At your child’s exam, your dentist will examine your child’s mouth for trauma, and the good news is once it heals, your childs gums swelling over their teeth should be greatly reduced.

Hello That is great that your little one is brushing her teeth twice daily, but one thing that you have to make sure is that she is brushing her teeth properly. We recommend that till the age the child is not able to spit or do brushing properly that is by the age of 6 to 7 years the parents should guide or help the child in brushing their teeth. Do not leave her on her own for brushing her teeth. Secondly it would be better if you could upload some photographs for better clarity because there could be some other reason for the swelling of gums. Is she taking any medication or have you given any medication like iron or something in the past? All these could lead to gum swelling. You can visit a paediatric dentist for a proper checkup and solution to it.
