Hello dr , my baby is two years old and he is having constipation issues and tried medicines which are suggested by dr for a few months while taking medicines no issues seen but after completing the medicines course again the same issue repeats. So I started to give 2 prunes daily and with other fruits( mostly high sugary fruits he likes) in day but is it ok to give daily with other fruits does this anyway affect his sugar level and cause any long term issues ?

Yes, giving 1-2 prunes daily for constipation in a 2-year-old is generally safe and commonly used. It usually does not cause long-term sugar-related problems if given in moderation along with a balanced diet and good physical activity.
Next Steps
If constipation is severe, painful, associated with blood in stool, poor weight gain, vomiting or persistent abdominal distension, kindly follow up again with your pediatrician.
Health Tips
Please prefer whole fruits over juices and also encourage adequate water intake, vegetables, fiber-rich foods and regular toilet habits. Many children with constipation need prolonged dietary management and sometimes medicines for a longer duration to break the constipation cycle.
