If a mental illness is related to some organic cause then the paediatric neurologist can help. If not related to any organic lesion then the psychiatrist is helpful.

Kids are into a stage of development…. Be Physical, mental and social. All go hand in hand as seen by the “Developmental scales “. A behaviour seen at a age may be normal for that age and abnormal if it is seen at an other stage of development. It’s always better to get a Paediatrician’s opinion also as so many underlying medical illnesses can prone to make the behaviour of a child look like “Abnormal behaviour “.

Sir Mental illnesses are typically seen by psychiatrist, however some illnesses have structural brain defect which should be consulted from pediatrician or neurologist First consult a psychiatrist and if he suspects organicity, he will refer the patient appropriately
