Mr. K. Appala Narayana is my father who is now 92 years of age and residing in Visakhapatnam. Around the age of 82 years, I saw him suffering from severe knee pain when he came to see us in Chennai. He was a brisk walker until the age of 70. But after his 70s his walk became slow and he was unable to walk even for a small distance without pain. He used to complain of pain in both his knees. He was not relieved with pain killers and external pain balms.

Finally, we decided to consult an Orthopedician for his knee replacement in Chennai. After thorough examination of both his knees and after necessary investigations Dr. S.Venkataramanan advised us to go for bilateral knee joint replacement as he was fit for undergoing surgery. On the advice of the doctor, he underwent bilateral knee replacement surgery (in the year 2016) at Apollo Hospitals, Perungudi, Chennai by Dr. S. Venkataramanan’s team. He was discharged from Apollo Hospital after a week’s time of post operative care. He was on regular check-ups by the Doctor and followed physiotherapy stringently, which was given by our family friend Mr. Sekhar Babu, in one month’s period my father was able to walk like a normal person. We felt so happy seeing my father’s happiness. We expressed our happiness & shared our thanks to Dr. S. Venkataramanan for his timely support and his sincere efforts.

Suffering from chronic lower back ache was finding difficult to walk, drive or sit for a prolonged time was referred to the great doctor Venkataraman Swaminathan . MRI study report revealed disc dessication of lumbar spine L4-L5/L5-S1. I was asked to practise two pain relieving exercise and three spine strengthening exercise . Just in span time of three days I became normal and able to move around , sit and travel without any pain. Doctor very patiently explained the problem and was really helpful.
