Dr. S C Rajendran

Dr Rajendran SC is one of the senior-most dermatologists in bangalore city, with a career in dermatology spanning over forty years. He started this journey as an undergraduate from St. john’s Medical College, and went on to complete his Masters in Dermatology at Bangalore Medical College, with a Diploma from Mysore Medical College. Thereafter he joined as faculty at St John’s department of dermatology, where he served for over 19 years, eventually as its Professor and Head of Department, before moving into private practise. He is generally considered by his peers as a pioneer in the field of LASERS in dermatology, credited with being one of the first dermatologists to bring this technology to Bangalore. His passion for Lasers has lead him on numerous international visits to some of the best centres in the world, such as in Israel, South Korea, Germany and the US. understandably, his clinic boasts a collection of advanced Laser technologies unrivalled in the city.He is highly respected in the dermatology community, having helped train a number of dermatologists who are in active practise today. He was conferred Indian Association of Dermatologists, ( I.A.D.V.L.) -Prof K.N. Sidappa Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2018, in recognition of his lifetime of service in the field of dermatology . He had earlier served as President of Bangalore Dermatological Society (B.D.S.) in the year 2004-05. Further, he has conducted numerous workshops and delivered lectures on Lasers at national and international conferences. Of note, he was the Workshop Committee Chairperson in Dermacon 2019, the National Conference of Dermatologists of our country, having also shouldered this responsibility in 2000, 2007 & 2013He also takes an avid interest in photo-dermatology and paediatric dermatology. He has been an examiner for the Rajiv Gandhi University Dermatology examinations and also a university recognised teaching faculty throughout his career.
