Ms. Diya Chakraborty

This testimony is long overdue. I reached out to Diya when I was experiencing a lot of personal stress in my life. This was during covid wave 1 in 2020. Diya and I continued for almost 8 months averaging a session every week for this duration.

I have been working with Diya for quite some time now. Her approach is quite different from my previous therapists. She has always listened to what I had to say and shared her unbiased point of view. My sessions never felt like a one-sided conversation with her. I have never felt like I went to her with a problem so that she can give me her opinion about it. Rather, with her, it always felt like we were both working towards me discovering myself. Each session I had with her, taught me so much about myself. I have always felt like she is genuinely invested in my health and problems.

My sessions with Diya started in November 2020 when I hit a personal low in terms of mental well-being. She has been exceptional in helping me tackle a wide range of issues - lack of confidence and motivation stemming from a divorce, anxiety caused by peer group, destabilization at work, and grief counseling to manage the overwhelming emotions caused by the death of a parent and a pet. Diya is extraordinarily intuitive about guiding me through all these setbacks and has been instrumental in making me believe that I will overcome anything that life throws at me.She's a confidant, someone I trust deeply with matters that I hide from the rest of the world. It's a testament to her skills as a psychotherapist to be able to put me at ease without the veil of judgement which would otherwise stop me from voicing these out loud. Diya is empathetic, and works without rushing me, allowing sufficient time for me to process our sessions and put into effect the actionables we discuss. Within the boundaries of this professional relationship, she has also became a dear friend for I look forward to Therapy Thursdays knowing that she's got my back.
