My dad hadn't eaten anything orally for over two months, nor did he have a drop of water. He suffered a spontaneous tear in eosaphagus due to an episode of voilent vomiting and couldn't take anything orally without it leaking directly into the lungs and the chest cavity, almost unheard of and a very rare condition called boerhaave's syndrome. He lost over 20 kg's and we hit several dead ends in terms of treatment options. After one month in ICU, we shifted to Apollo hospital and met Dr. Srikanth Gadiyaram. All our prayers to God were answered through him, he spent several hours to explain in detail with diagrams about what he can do to fix this. I have never met a doctor who cares so much. His associate Dr. Gaurav is one of the most patient and understanding person in his profession. He answered all our question in great detail and believe me when I say I cannot put a number to the amount of question we had. Things started turning around soon after Dr. Srikanth performed the surgery. Within a week my dad was able to take his first drops of water orally in over two months. Gradually, he was able to return to normal eating habits. Six months post surgery now and my dad is doing great. This wouldn't have been possible without Dr. Srikanth's expertise, his kind heartedness and the efforts of his entire team. Having met him, I have started to believe in miracles. Dr Srikanth had immense patience to explain us about the procedure, associated risks and his treatment plan. The surgery was conducted well and my father in law is home after 8 days of hospitalization. He is already on his feet, doing everything pretty much on his own, which we had never imagined would happen so soon. Hats off to Dr Srikanth for the personal care he shows and status connected throughout the treatment period. Not at all an exaggeration to say he was god sent in our testing times! Dr. Srikanth Gadiyaram along with Dr. Gaurav were treating my father. As we were dealing with a very complex problem, my dad was hospitalized for over two months. During this time Dr. Gaurav has spent several hours with us to explain the treatment procedure and options. He is an extremely patient and kind person. He answered all the zillion questions we had in great detail. This really helped us to take a very difficult decision. He used to continuously follow up to check how my dad was doing and showed genuine care in addressing all his concerns. He is very knowledgeable and without his continuous support and guidance we would have had a hard time. His medical treatment is also too good . He makes sure that he keeps an update about the patient everyday even after discharge . He took great responsibility and care even when it was not his duty there..it's only because of Dr.Gaurav that we could get 2 major surgeries done with not much of stress .We are grateful to Sir , and still in touch with him even after discharge.
