Dr. Vidya M K is a consultant psychiatrist, with 12 years’ experience in the field of psychiatry. She is currently heading the Acute Psychiatric and Adult Psychiatry services at Maarga Mind Care, Yelahanka, Bangalore. Maarga Mind Care is a state-of-the-art psychiatry super-specialty hospital. Dr. Vidya M K completed her MBBS from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She completed her PG Diploma in Psychiatry from JJM Medical College, Davangere, Karnataka, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She also completed DNB (Psychiatry) from Schizophrenia Research Foundation, Chennai (a centre of repute in Rehabilitation and Research in Mental Disorders, globally recognized as a Collaborating Centre of the WHO for Mental Health Research and Training). She completed her Post Graduate Certificate Course in CHILD and ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH at Pathways Foundation, Coimbatore. She has also done MRCPsych.She worked as a consultant psychiatrist at Vazhikatti Mental Health Centre & Research Institute, Tirupur and Coimbatore for 2 years. She has served as centre in-charge consultant in Tirupur. She was also a part of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAPS) Clinic and Telepsychiatry. During her work period here, she was a part of the teaching faculty for Tamil Nadu Open University courses, M.Sc. Counselling & Psychotherapy/PG Diploma in Psychological Counselling. She worked as a senior resident in KMCH Institute Of Health Sciences And Research, Coimbatore for nearly 2 years. She has also worked as a Private Consultant Psychiatrist in various clinics, and as a part of RXDX Health Care Team, Bangalore. In the course of her career, she has made several international presentations and has been a resource person in conferences.Dr Vidya M K is dedicated to providing efficient care and implementing effective treatment plans for her patients. She is very passionate about her patients' wellbeing. She has a holistic approach towards patients and aims for their complete functional recovery. She is very empathetic and compassionate, and has an individualistic, approach to every patient. She is interested in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, neuropsychiatry and palliative care psychiatry.
