We have been living in Bangalore for the past three years and the day we found out we were pregnant, the first and most important decision was choosing the right doctor.

She asked us not to panic, advised another scan within a week to monitor the fluid levels, and reassured us that the bowel movement could be managed after delivery if needed. Her calmness helped us stay composed during yet another stressful phase.

We eventually reached full term and decided to induce labour at 37 weeks and 1 day because we did not want to take unnecessary risks with the aging placenta and declining amniotic fluid. After nearly 16 hours of induction, there was no cervical dilation, and together we made the decision to proceed with a C-section. During the surgery, we discovered that the umbilical cord was unusually short, preventing the baby from descending towards the cervix. Looking back, it reaffirmed that the decision was absolutely the right one for both mother and baby.
