Dr. Jaya M Bhat is a gynaecologist, obstetrician and laparoscopic surgeon at Manipal Hospitals Old Airport Road, Bangalore, with 53 years of experience. She completed her MBBS at Kasturba Medical College in 1973, a DGO from Karnataka Medical College, Mangalore, in 1975 and an MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Kasturba Medical College in 1976, and went on to the MRCOG in 1982 and the FRCOG in 1992 from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London. She is registered with the Karnataka Medical Council, has served as President of the Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and has been a consultant at Nova Specialty Surgery, Koramangala.Her gynaecology practice covers laparoscopic and endoscopic gynaecological surgery, in-vitro fertilisation and fertility-conserving procedures, endometriosis and adenomyosis, dysmenorrhoea and menstrual disorders including polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescents, contraception advice, menopause advice and urogynaecology.In obstetrics she provides antenatal care, maternal-fetal medicine for complicated pregnancies, nuchal translucency, growth and Doppler scans, cervical cerclage, normal vaginal delivery, medical termination of pregnancy, lactation counselling and post-pregnancy classes.
