Dr Monika Pansari, a leading surgical oncologist in India, specialising in Women's cancer, mainly breast cancer andgynaecological cancers, comes with close to two decades of stellar contributions to the field and she stands as anunparalleled force.Dr Monika Pansari specializes in handling complex oncological surgeries, including major cytoreduction surgeries,hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and pressurized intraperitoneal aerosolized chemotherapy(PIPAC). Her skills encompass fertility- sparing surgeries for women with gynecological malignancies, breastconservation surgeries (with oncoplasty techniques) and a range of reconstructive procedures. Her masteryextends to nipple-sparing mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies and even reverse axillary mapping amongothers.She extends her care beyond the operating room as the Founder of Sakhi Oncology, a support group for womencancer survivors. Through this transformative initiative, she provides a nurturing space for cancer survivors toshare their journeys and find strength in solidarity. This group has over 700 members – all patients (cancersurvivors) of Dr Monika Pansari, who are now role models for other cancer patients, enabling them through thejourney.Dr Monika Pansari, a Gold medalist in MS, earned her MBBS in 2003 and her MS in General Surgery in 2006 fromGajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. To further refine her expertise, she pursued aFellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FIAGES) with the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons in2011. In 2015, she was awarded the Diplomate of the National Board, DNB in Surgical Oncology, from ManipalHospital, Bengaluru, India.Dr Monika Pansari has held key positions at various renowned institutions in Bengaluru, including St John'sMedical College and Hospitals, Manipal Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Gleneagles BGS Hospitals and at FortisHospitals.Dr. Monika Pansari is currently practicing at Manipal Hospital, Kanakapura Road, further expanding her commitmentto delivering world-class cancer care. She now also performs robotic surgeries in oncology, offering patientsthe advantages of enhanced surgical precision, reduced recovery time, and minimally invasive treatment options.This marks a significant step forward in her mission to bring advanced, patient-centric cancer treatment to morewomen.Dr Monika Pansari won the “Shining star” award in 2021 at the Deccan Herald’s Healing hands event that recognisesexcellence in healthcare.
