Dr. K V Krishna Kumar is a senior Consultant Cardiovascular-Thoracic surgeon and academic head of department of Cardiothoracic surgery. He have done his MBBS degree from Guntur Medical College. He was awarded merit Certificate in Surgery in prize examination. He did his Master of Surgery(MS-General Surgery) in Kasturba Medical College Mangalore/Manipal. After spending two years in General Surgery in Guntur District and NIMS, Hyderabad, Dr. K V Krishna Kumar aso did MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Osmania Medical College. Later, he worked for a brief period in NIMS and joined for practice in Medwin Hospital in 1994. Later moved to Mahavir Cardiovascular Centre and worked there from 1996 June to 2005 June. Joined in KIMS in 2004. He also worked as visiting cardiac surgeon from 2002 to 2007 in Bollineni Heart Centre, Rajamundry. Visited cardiac centres in UK and USA-Liverpool, Cleveland Clinic for brief period and attended many International conferences. Had training in mitral valve repair techniques in Bangkok in Thailand.Dr. K V Krishna Kumar is routinely performing the following surgeries: Coronary artery bypass (CABG) surgery including beating heart surgeries and mitral valve repairs for Ischeamic Mitral regurgitation.Valve Replacement Surgeries-Mitral valve replacement (MVR), Aortic valve replacement(AVR), Double valve replacement(DVR) and Mitral Valve Repair Surgeries.Surgeries for Congenital Heart Disease in Children .Atrial septal defect(ASD), Ventricular septal defect(VSD), Patent ductus arteriosus(PDA), Coarctation of Aorta etc. Tetrology of Fallot(TOF), DORV & TAPVC etc.Minimally invasive Surgeries for Mitral Valve Replacement, Aortic Valve Replacement (Both by Partial Sternotomy and Minithorocotomy) and for ASD Closure.Ascending Aortic aneurysm Surgery including Bentall procedure.Thoracic Surgeries Lobectomy, Pneumunectomies, Mediastinal Tumor excision.Vascular procedures like Embolectomy Aortofemoral, Femoropopliteal, Femorofemoral bypass etc.
