Visited For Anxiety And Depression

I have been struggling with anxiety and depression my whole life. But I started seeking professional help only about 3 years back. And for 2 years I saw various therapists, psychologists, physiatrists. Even though most of them were reputed and tried their best. I would get better for some time and then go back. And this would happen every now and then. Every time I would get better and then back to square one. So one of my therapists who was rrally at her wits end with me suggested Dr. Purnima. She has around 25 years of experience. And the methods she use work. Atleast for me what couldn't be done in 2.5 years of therapy, I am way better in 6 months.
To better elaborate, to make sure what I actually had instead of previous diagnosis, she did some behavioural tests and I remember our first two sessions were her asking a lot of questions, which I found great because earlier we weren't able to identify my actual problem and the treatment seemed to be symptomatic. The best part about her is it's not all medicine based. I was actually scared I was getting used to medicine and was not able to function without them. And that she has taken away. Also, I have had detailed discussions with her about almost everything and she doesn't beat around the bush. she helps me find logical solutions to it rather than spoon feeding me. I have had really bad episodes of my life when I was seeing her and I wouldn't have come out of it without her. She really listens which is a major thing I have been looking for.
Well I'm looking forward to things for a change.
Visited For Depression TreatmentRelationship Counselling
Happy with: Treatment satisfaction
I have visited Dr. Purnima for both marital and individual counselling. Her way of treating a patient is very unique and in psychological and relationship issues not feeling like a patient works wonders. She is very clear and methodical in her ways and starts out with a definitive plan of treatment with an end point. She helped me and my spouse with marital counselling and practically saved my marriage. As a therapist for my depression her availability is a blessing. I have never once been in a situation to have not been able to reach her which gives me a lot of faith and confidence in the treatment.

I have consulted the doctor when I have had extreme depression and anxiety and repetitive self checking and didn't even had proper sleeps. I was diagnosed with OCD and I came to know only then which I have later realised that I had the problem since many years.
I was on only medication for few months and later I have gone through counselling and cognitive behavioral therapy along with medication.
Over the time, I have gained confidence and also developed interest in arts and literature while I was struggling to fight with my OCD. I have started healing my life by making positive affirmations and reading books as suggested by my doctor.
The best thing I have liked with my doctor is that she spends the required time with me (sometimes even more time than the scheduled appointment time) with me and show me love and support and gives and helps me in developing my personality.
I cannot say that all my days are good but my doctor has made me enrich my skills which I use to overcome hurdles.
Believe me there are many areas where I have improved a lot like social interactions(I also work with an NGO), interpersonal skills, communication skills, problem solving skills. Also, I have learnt driving and now I am driving mopid. My doctor also claps for all my success and encourages me.
To put it in a nutshell, I am thankful to my doctor for everything I am right now.
