Dr.Ammaiyappan has been a pillar of support after my father tested positive for Covid-19 three weeks ago! Let me briefly explain how.

Father tested positive on Jun 14 and based on online feedback in this platform, we setup a tele-consultation with Dr. Ammaiyappan on Jun 15. He gave us comfort to treat my father under home quarantine. He also immediately agreed to give a certificate that Corporation wanted to do home quarantine which even a reputed chain hospital refused! His diagnosis was spot-on in that lung infection will start only around 4-6 days and advised CT, helped with the diagnostic center as well. Father did have lung infection and he gave medications for that and also asked us to strictly monitor SPO2 levels using pulse oxymeter every 4hrs. We were cautioned that the levels shouldn't go below 94%. As a backup he also asked us to rent a oxygen concentrator which came in handy later. Daily at night I would send the day's SPO2 readings to him and he would promptly respond over whatsapp. That way he was available throughout giving timely advice. The following Friday night (Jun 19) SPO2 levels dropped below 94. On Sat morning (Jun 20) he advised us to hospitalize my father while using the oxygen concentrator in the meantime to supply external oxygen.

Father had to be hospitalized for 2 weeks in a hospital (where we were able to secure a bed) where he was not consulting. Even during this time he constantly advised us and gave reassurance during difficult times. He is always available over whatsapp which is not the case with many doctors. In spite of the fact that he is a busy person treating Covid patients at GH and elsewhere he was also available for calls when critical advise was needed. Except for the first time he even refused to take consultation fee for all the whatsapp consultation and advise we received. When insisted he simply said he wants the pandemic to get over and is treating old patients as a service! Hats off to you doctor...you are a rare gem in this profession!

My father has now recovered and is back home. For us Dr. Ammaiyappan has truly been a Godsend during a critical moment in life! Thank you so much Doctor! Thanks also to this online community for the feedback that prompted us to consult him in the first place :-)

Had been through a few doctors but this doctor,he is different.so wish to giveup a lengthy writeup.

.Very gentle and soft spoken doctor with patients irrespective of their age.Had seen a few busy doctors trying to rush up patients.No,absolutly he is not like that.

.Ample patience in listing patient's complaints.This does not mean he vl keep listing stories of the patient's and makes the other patients wait a long time.Nope.He leaves his ear while checking us.

.VERY MUCH APT in diagnosis.

.Not interested in running unwanted diagnositic tests except for the needed.

.You dont get a big list of medicines untill your condition demands, unlike few doctors do as per my experience.

.When i had to go for a second visit to show the test results i was late n as per the norms of doctors fee/hospitals i had to pay the consultation fee but he did not accept it on humanitarian grounds because i live far and was coming alone with my 6yr kid in cab and by the time i reach home it would 10-10.30 pm.

Honestly i just came across commericial doctors till date with hospitals ,ignoring private clinics, charging for every visit beyound the valid timeperod.This shows he is not a doctor with commericial mindset.

He remembers you by name and leaves a msg to ask hows the improvement. ON a regular basis he enquiries his patients whereabouts and suggests changes in medications if needed.

He even helps you as a psychiatrist to manage ur stress and anxiety.

I mean I never came across such goodhearted doctor.

What more can you except from a doctor who is apt in his diagnosis ,treatment and follow up with patient not just for a stipulated treatment period but beyound and during the pandemic.

I would certainly recommend Dr.Ammaiyyappan sir.

At the end I would just say a very down to earth,softspoken, friendly caregiving,highly efficient doctor.Certainly society needed such doctors.

We went through a very difficult time when our daughter was diagnosed with a TB infection. In search of the **** care, we consulted several doctors at reputed hospitals. My wife developed breathing issue on March 20, exactly few days before the nationwide lock down, and it was severe. We were running post to post within city for doctor consultation and we couldnt get any appointments. She she continued to have discomfort, we were clueless. Fortunately, we consulted Dr. Ammaiyappan and that has made all the difference. He asked us to do couple of tests , X-rays and explained us in detail the diagnosis and the what we should be following. If not for the Doctor, we might not have released we had a problem for months. Doctor was available anytime and patiently cleared all our doubts multiple times over call and whatsapp and went beyond the call of duty, in spite of working in GH, and treating patients for Covid 19.

We couldn't have survived the pandemic without Doctors help and support. My wife again developed fever for almost a week, he promptly asked to take CT, Blood test and even asked to do a blood test again to make sure every parameters are expected. We feel really lucky to have consulted with the Doctor, we could not imagine what we could have done had we didnt get his service.

I know Dr Ammaiyappan for the past 3 years. Initially I met him at Arka clinic, Adyar for Bronchitis related issues then later on for normal cold & flu.

During mar 2020, I had severe back pain, initially I thought it was muscle spasm. Due to lockdown I can't go out & see ortho doctor. After 45 days, due to severe pain, I consulted one ortho doctor thro phone & took medication for muscle spasm. Even after 2 months there is no improvement. So finally I decided to met ortho doctor for face to face consultation. He took x-rays & suggested lot of medicines with severe physiotherapy for 10 days. Even. After that there is no significant improvement.

Finally we decided to take an MRI scan to see the issue.

On 25 may 2020, I took MRI scan. In the report it is mentioned that suggestive of Bone Tuberculosis in vertebra (spinal cord).

It's a complete shock for me & whole family.

Since I know Dr. Ammaiyappan before this issue, simply I forwarded the MRI report to him thro WhatsApp.

At that time he was in covid duty, amidst lot of stress & work, he saw the report & he called me immediately.

He also confirmed that it's bone TB only, he told me that,nothing to worry about it, it's 100% curable. His words at that moment gives me a rebirth. Moreover he prescribed the medicine (ATT) thro whatsapp to start immediately.

But my ortho doctor was not convinced with MRI report, he suggested to go for an PET CT scan & CT guided Biopsy to confirm the same.

Due to Corona lockdown during May 2020, it's not easy to do those tests. Dr. Ammaiyappan helped a lot to take those tests. It took almost 10 days to take both scans/tests. The test report came & confirmed that it is bone TB only.

After seeing the MRI report alone ( soft copy), he diagnosed correctly based on his experience. Hats off to you sir.

After that I contacted many times thro phone/WhatsApp for clarifications. Each time he replied me with very supportive & very cool. Now almost I completed one month of medications, improved a lot but so far I didn't paid a single rupee to him. The whole consultation took place thro phone call (no face to face consultation).

He is giving importance to patients not anything else. he is simply down to earth person

For the past one and of year my father has a symptoms of sudden raise of BP and dryness in toung we cunsulted several dr. And taken test but the problem was not sorted out by any one. First time we met the de. Ammaiappan he patiently asked the simptoms from my father who is 70 years old and advised us to take sleep test and found oxigen deficiency in blood now we are very happy that some issues were sorted out by the doctor. I was admitted to Emergency at MGM Malar Hospital in a critical state. I was attended to immediately and Dr. Ammaiyappan took over the entire process, from performing a bronchoscopy and aspirating my lungs, and recommending the required tests and scans.

The diagnosis was acute allergic pneumonia, and Dr. Ammaiyappan very patiently and pleasantly explained the condition and the course of treatment.

The follow up reviews were also very pleasant and reassuring, and I have recovered well, thanks to him and the excellent care that I received at the hospital.

I was especially impressed by his patient and experienced manner, and humorous demeanour as well, *** *** ** ***** ********** ****** *** * ***** **********I shall be ever grateful and thankful to Dr. Ammaiyappan.🙏

Doctor was immensively responsive to hear the patients problem.I preferred to take an opinion from this Doctor, as my consultation with another Doctor on the same problem was not satisfactory.The Doctor was very quick in diagnosing the issue and prescribed treatment best suiting to the patients other health issues.He assured that he would be available to hear the development or progress in treatment which itself would be a great relief to patient.I would be more than happy to recommend Dr.Ammaiyappan Palani swamy for any pulmonology related problems.

I approached Dr Ammaiyappan with a severe lung infection. He had immediately advised me to get admitted for bronchoscopy.
