Visited For Pregnancy Check Up
Hoped for better: Treatment satisfaction
I had a mixed experience during my pregnancy and postpartum journey. While she was approachable and available for my queries, there were several aspects of my care that I feel could have been handled better, especially considering this was my first pregnancy.
From fairly early in my pregnancy, I often felt that a C-section was being hinted at or discussed as the likely outcome. This made me quite anxious, and I would have appreciated more balanced guidance about the possibility of vaginal delivery and what I could expect during labour.
In the later months, I developed IHCP (intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy). I was eventually advised to have a membrane sweep at 37 weeks, but I wasn’t given enough information beforehand about what to expect after the sweep, how labour pain might begin, how to recognise that labour had actually started, or how to distinguish between normal discharge and my water breaking.
Unfortunately, my water broke while I was urinating, and as a first-time mother I genuinely didn’t realise that my water had broken. By the evening, the baby was in distress and I ultimately had to undergo an emergency C-section. I often wonder whether having clearer guidance about recognising the signs of ruptured membranes and labour would have helped me seek appropriate care sooner. Of course, I understand that an emergency C-section may sometimes be unavoidable, but I feel better preparation and counselling could have made a significant difference to my experience.
Unfortunately, the difficulties continued after the surgery. There was no immediate skin-to-skin contact or early latching, and formula was given before I was able to establish breastfeeding. I subsequently struggled with low milk supply, which was very distressing for me as a new mother.
Another major concern was my postpartum follow-up. Around two months after delivery, I specifically asked about my hanging/protruding abdomen and whether I could have diastasis recti, but this was not diagnosed. I eventually consulted another doctor, *** ********** ** ***** ******* *** ********* **** ** ***** **** **** ******** **** ******* ****** *** ********** ******* This left me disappointed because I had specifically raised the concern during my follow-up.
Pregnancy and childbirth are such an overwhelming experience, particularly for a first-time mother, and I believe that counselling and preparation are just as important as medical treatment. I would have appreciated more proactive guidance about labour, what to expect after a membrane sweep, recognising water breaking, breastfeeding immediately after a C-section, and postpartum recovery.
I am sharing this review honestly because I feel these are important areas where communication and postpartum counselling could be improved. There were aspects of the care that I appreciated, but overall, I wish I had received more comprehensive guidance and support during what was one of the most important and vulnerable periods of my life.
I had a really good experience with Dr. Meenu Singh. She was very kind, understanding, and patiently listened to all my concerns. Everything went smoothly, and I’m very happy with the care and guidance I received.

Visited For EndometriosisAdenomyosis Treatment

A very distressing and harrowing experience.
This was my fifth doctor for endometriosis and adenomyosis followup and desperate lookout for a non-surgical solution. My first appointment with her was decent, ****** *** *** **** ****** ** * ****** ********** I went by myself the first time, after which I was asked to come back with MRI scans. In the first appointment itself I was telling her that I feel my endo has spread on the bowel too. ** **** ***** *** *** ******* **** *** ******* ****** **** **** *** *** ***** ** ************ I was gaslit despite telling her that I've been having consistent stomach issues for a month straight now. She dismissed it saying it must have been the junk food infection as I had admitted to indulging.
****** **** **** ******** ** *** ***** *** *** In my second appointment, here's what happened.
1. She looks at the scans and announces I do have endo and adeno, and that my right ovaries, fallopian tube are stuck and it has spread to bowel (rectum) too. I added right then and there that it seems like I was right the entire time. That seemed to piss her off.
2. She then starts explaining the basics of endo and adeno! Why would a doctor kill their time explaining basic stuff like that especially when the patient has seen numerous doctors already in the past three years. I'd still let this one go as basic doctor drill.
3. I'm suggested dienogest, knowing I've a history of chronic depression. She tells me to see a psychiatrist for the same. ** ******* *** ***** ** **** *********** ***** * *** ***** ************* **** **** ***** ****** *** ******* ** ** ****** * ********* ******* **** * **** ** **** *** ** ******* * *** * **** ** *** **** *** ****** * *** ********* ***** ***** ***** * **** ** *** ****** ** ** ***** **** ****** *** ***** ********** I do know my body at least. So I tell her that the last psychiatrist I saw dismissed me with nerve medications* *** ****** ** *** ***** ********** **** *** *** ****** ********* ** *** ****** *****
4. Then I'm told that there is no cure, even surgery isn't a solution. This is being told to a 30-yr-old working professional who is in a perpetual state of pain. I had brought my parents along with me to the clinic this time. I was heartbroken to hear the same words again, trying to plaster a smile on my face, so a mere line escaped my mouth* ****** **** ** **** ** ******** *** ********* ** *** *** **** **** ***** ** ****** ** *****5. I then queried about hysterectomy and was immediately shut down (not even with the right reasons of it impacting overall wellbeing right away, the reasoning followed much later). I'm told I'm too young to understand what I want or don't want to do with my OWN BODY and hence SHE'LL HELP ME UNDERSTAND THAT. Her rationale being that she sees young girls like me every day who don't want marriage and kids at first but later pine for it. I was quick to add that I believe I'm old enough to decide what I want or don't want in life. I also added that I would choose to obliterate my everyday pain and struggles rather than think of a non-existent entity in my life!
She ended her tirade with "you're too young to decide that for yourself, **** *** ******** ** ******* * ***** ***** **** **** *** **** ** ***** ** **** ******* *** ************* ** * ****** *** *** ** ******* ******** ********* ** ******* Though I've left my feedback there as well but I don't think that will make any difference.
