This is the review about Dr Sushama Ramchandani. I visited her last week for an Eye appointment. This is my third appointment with her in span of 2 yrs .

I am highly dissatisfied with their services . Below are some observations , I hope people will related to this and would be able to take sound decisions before choosing any doctors .

1) Firstly Shivam Eye Clinic is a money making Clinic. They will charge you on every visit even if Doctor has asked you to visit them in 3 days for further check up.

2) They will make you wait for at least 1.5- 2hrs before Dr Sushama attends you.

3) They will give same timings to all patient so taking appointment at particular time will not make any sense , anywhich ways you will have to wait whether you have appointment or not because “Dr Sushama can't wait for patients” .

Reason being eye check up needs dilation-Agreed but even for patient when dilation is not required , same time will be wasted .The point is Dr Sushama don't care whether patients are waiting for 2,3,4 hrs . All they want is money.

Dr Sushama - People these days do not have time , you should realize that . If time is money for you then the same rule is applied for all the other people who come and visit you. You should value there time as well.

Most importantly guys if you are going to her for Check up , you are wasting your money. I would suggest please go to some other doctor who values your time and values your money and has time to patiently attend and answer all your questions. She won’t even spend more than 5 min on you.

Her prescription after the check up will be very general :

-Don't Rub your eyes

-Clean your eyes with Boiled and Cooled cotton

-Don’t wear contact lenses

-Eyes irritation is because of Dust

If she has to tell this to us after check up and after paying 500/- bucks(each visit) then guys what are we paying her for . Is this not common sense to use cotton and don't rub .Money does not grow on trees Dr Sushama.For this kind of prescription I don't want to pay her anything .Is this a prescription a doctor will write , We all can also write same , any infections in eyes, use cotton and don't rub. Bloody thief these doctors are.

Last but not the least , she pretends to be so busy that when you go to her clinic , some girls are assigned some duties of Dilation, God knows how qualified are they and they are only there to explain you what she has written in the prescription. She does not have time to speak to patients in details because in two hours she has to make money .”More the patients , more the money she makes” .

Her girls outside sometimes don’t even know what they have to explain to the patients .

I don't know how people think , they also wait there for 2 hrs for the check up and she does not even spend 5 mins on patient. People should voice out this at her clinic that there time is also important , plus we are paying her, we are not taking her services for free . She does have any right to make people wait for 2 hrs before check up and then spend 5 mins and give general prescription which a little child will also know .

Hope this helps if someone wants to know about her before visiting her clinic.

Three times I visited her and was never satisfied but always thought to write a review but never wrote because thought that there is no point in writing reviews. But am writing this because like I wasted time and money on her , I don't want people who can’t afford the charges are visiting her and wasting money . Now these days everyone has mobile phones , so i wanted if someone wanted to know about her , he or she should know everything.

All these reasons forced me to write reviews about them .

Please read reviews before going to the doctor and write your feedback on internet so that it helps other people in making better decisions .

Extremely disappointed. Returned with no solution, lots of confusion and a lighter pocket.

It seems Shivam Eye Foundation is more interested in making money than to help patients.

I went to finalise my eye number. I was charged Rs. 500 in the 1st visit. 3 checkups were done (machine test with and without drop, chart test). Was asked to come back again for a final number.

Charged Rs. 100 for the 2nd visit (which was completely useless. This test could have been done on the 1st visit itself. I have worn spectacles for the last 19 yrs. For the 1st time I was called again and also charged again for it. Highly unacceptable.

After the tests she said that my actual number and the spectacle has a difference, so I can choose to continue with my current number. When I asked for the number, she said I will give it in writing, you wait outside. She refused to say it during that discussion. Maybe because she had no time or no right answer for my queries.

The prescription said my actual number is (-3.25 and -3.5) but I already wear spectacle of (-4.0 and -4.0).

Considering the huge number I wanted to consult her again for the advice. They made me wait 1 hr for a 5 min talk which should have ideally been done if she wouldn't have refused to tell my number inside.

When I met her again, this is how the conversation went:

1. "When I have explained you already why are you coming again?" - The explanation was useless. I did not have to spend Rs. 600 for that opinion. I need a final number from the doctor.

2. "Mera beta 80-90% marks laane ke liye itna nahi sochta jitna tum number ke liye soch rahe ho". (Off course no one does until you have to see through it 20 hrs a day)

3. When I tried to clarify my doubts - "You don't try to teach me. I have more than 20 yrs of experience and will in fact retire soon."

(This is when I did not even cross question her reasoning and just wanted to know if wearing a over corrected glass would cause any problem in a long run.)

4. When I said as a patient I have doubts which needs to be cleared - she said "Now you are taking it to another direction which is even worse"

Conclusion: I came here for a second opinion and she gave me the answer- Make spectacle of either of the two numbers.

I wonder why I spent Rs.600 (Rs. 500 registration + Rs. 100 for God knows what) when I myself had to decide the number.

Not to forget - the term appointment has no meaning here. No matter what time they give you, they will follow first come first serve.

I have never been so disappointed with a doctor ever. She was very sweet at the first visit but found her very casual with my queries in the 2nd visit and eventually became very rude.

Visiting Shivam Eye Foundation was an excellent experience. My mother had been diagnosed with cataract and underwent several unnecessary procedures at various hospitals around Mumbai. However, one consultation with Dr. Ramchandani was enough to convince me to get her operated at Shivam Eye Foundation that resulted in my mother having perfect vision. Dr. Sushama is extremely professional in her demeanor and is an extremely skilled surgeon.

Consultation experience:

We were ushered in on time for some pre-consultation tests by Shivam's staff. The staff seemed to know what they were doing and were great at making my nervous mother feel comfortable.

Afterwards, we had a consultation with Dr. Sushama. Dr. Ramchandani starts off by making us comfortable by asking us about some non-medical related questions. Then she efficiently conducted some tests and we were let go off soon. However, she answered all questions we had for her.

Surgery experience:

Dr. Ramchandani performed the surgery incredibly efficiently. My mother was out of the operation theatre in within 30 minutes. She now has perfect vision. Dr. Sushama visited her as she was recuperating and made her feel relaxed. We were allowed to go home the same morning itself.

The staff was also incredibly helpful in giving us all instructions-- right from ground-level upwards.

100% positive experience. Would strongly recommend this place for someone interested in efficient treatment; someone who does not want to be recommended unnecessary tests; and when you want perfect vision.
