I visited Dr. Tanoy Bose at the Medica Superspeciality hospital in kolkata on December 7, 2021 for my wife's joint pains. Her pain and suffering was very serious, she was stretcher bound when she visited the doctor. Our life was completely crippled for the past two months as her illness intensified. She first felt pain in her left ankle in August, 2021. She was only 25 so I didn't expect it to be an arthritis. Even the first two orthopaedic surgeons whom we consulted opined that it is not arthritis and could be cured in few days of medication and the use of soft shoes. But it didn't happen and her suffering continues to worse. First she has to take the help of a stick to walk on the floor and then a wheel chair. I had to hire an aya to take care of my young wife. The third doctor we consulted Dr. Anirban Chatterjee (also in Medica hospital) was the first to suggest that it could be arthritis. He advised few blood tests to diagnose arthritis. Except CRP and ESR no other result was positive. But still on his advise we decided to consult a Rheumatologist. After reading reviews in Practo I decided that Dr. Tanoy Bose could be the best choice for her. And I am more than thankful for my decision now. He came like an angel in our life and poured his blessings. Just by doing few minutes of observation with her fingers and ankle joints he confidently diagnosed it to be a case of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He prescribed no exercise and no therapy, just few medicines. And that was enough to transform a bed ridden woman into a freely walking personality who can do a daily morning walk of over 4 kilometres in just under three months. In our next visit to him she walked into the doctor's chamber like a fully healthy woman. Every credit goes to the doctor for transforming our life and regaining our self confidence. No praise is enough for him. Kolkata should be proud to have such a doctor here who can treat a chronic and traumatic disease like arthritis confidently.

Hello everyone, like Naina my problem was exactly the same. I was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for the last 3 years and i had visited quite a few doctors of repute in Kolkata and I was put on Methotrexates, Saazo 1000 mg, Defza and Folic tablets. But there was no solution. Also i have taken biologics (Simponi) but that also didn't worked. 4 months back my knee joint got swollen and it was painful like anything. Can't even walk for single second, it was too painful.. I was so depressed and don’t know what to do. Seriously, i tell you some doctors are horrible and money minded, they only treat for money. I got to know this doctor from Practo and book an appointment . After I visited him he examined my knee which was swollen and painful. There was a swelling just behind the knee joint too. He immediately did an Ultrasound of the knee in his clinic at NH Rabindra Nath Speciality Centre, Hiland Park and a big cyst was found probably baker's cyst. He showed the picture to my husband too and compared the picture of both the knees. My left knee was totally different from right one. I was like astonished. After spending so much of money for last 3 years, net result was zero.

After the examination, he drew some fluid from the cyst. After the fluid was removed approximately 7ml I got a significant relief of pain and swelling. He stopped Methotrexates and steroids and asked us to get the fluid examined. Only if the fluid showed that there is no infection he will again draw the rest of fluid and inject steroid in the joint. We are waiting for the reports.

Iam extremely thankful to Dr. Bose, that he listened to me very carefully and he spent a complete one hour with me until the entire process of consultation and USG was completed. Till Date, iam fully statisfied with his consultation. The major point which I want to highlight i.e he always listen to patient’s problem carefully and then diagnosis according to that. For me, he did an exceptional job being a doctor. Iam surprised to see that before his treatment, none of the doctors been able to find out the reason of swelling in the knee.
