ILS Hospitals, Dumdum Road

We had to rush to ILS Hospital Dumdum on an emergency basis on 8th July 2025 at around 11.00 p.m. , due to recurrent nose bleeding of my husband and as I could not find an ENT at other nearby hospitals, who could do posterior nasal packing which was the need of the hour. I was desperately searching for an ENT. This is when, through a relative, I came to know about Dr. Soumyarup Das ( Consultant ENT ), who was available that time at ILS Dumdum. My husband was very lucky to get admitted under Dr. Das at that odd hour. He immediately attended my husband in the emergency and did the relevant procedure to stop his nose bleeding, which then gradually began to subside. All the important blood tests and other tests were all done even after midnight. On talking to Dr. Das, I was quite relieved, as he explained to me how he was planning to proceed. The OT was fixed for 10th July 2025. The surgery started at around 11.00 a.m. ,under general anaesthesia and through nasal endoscopy. The surgery was finally successfully completed around 3.00 p.m. , with Dr. Das' surgical expertise . This case was, in a way, quite critical because the septal branch of the sphenopalatine artery had ruptured due to trauma to the nose.

My husband was discharged from the hospital after a day's observation, on 13th July 2025.

It took my husband almost another month to join his office. During the healing process, he was working from home and there were a few follow up sessions with Dr. Das, to assess the stage of his recovery .

His down-to-earth and friendly behaviour takes the stress off the patient's family, as soon as one meets him. He is very easy to approach and makes sure to clarify all doubts. We wish him all the best for his future and may he continue with his very noble job of curing patients, for years to come.

The hospital staff is also very caring and co-operative.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Soumyarup Das (Consultant ENT and Head-Neck Surgeon) and the entire ILS Hospital Dumdum team for their extraordinary care and timely action during a medical emergency involving my 8-year-old son, Renesh Nandy, who is non-verbal and autistic.

On Diwali night, 20th October 2025, while having dinner, my son accidentally swallowed a foreign object that got impacted in his throat. He vomited multiple times and even had traces of blood. We immediately rushed him to the ILS Dumdum Emergency late at night.

Despite the festival night and the late hour, Dr. Soumyarup Das responded promptly and came to the hospital himself. Since my child was extremely restless due to his autism, an emergency endoscopic removal under general anesthesia was planned and successfully performed around 2 AM. The anesthetist and the emergency staff coordinated wonderfully under Dr. Das’s leadership, ensuring a safe and smooth procedure.

As parents of a special child who cannot express his pain, this situation was deeply distressing for us. But the compassion, confidence, and professional expertise of Dr. Soumyarup Das and the ILS team gave us immense relief and hope. The post-operative recovery was smooth, and within 24 hours, my son was able to eat and rest comfortably.

I am truly grateful to Dr. Soumyarup Das for his dedication and to the ILS Hospital Dumdum emergency and anesthesia teams for standing by us during those critical hours. On a festive night when getting medical help is difficult, their commitment to patient care truly reflected the real spirit of the medical profession.

Thank you, Dr. Soumyarup Das and ILS Dumdum, for being there when we needed you most. Your timely action turned a night of fear into one of gratitude and relief.

We visited Dr. Soumyarup Das at ILS Hospital, Dumdum, for my fathers long-standing ear condition. The waiting time was reasonable, and Dr. Das conducted a thorough examination. Dr Kavita Mandal is very efficient professional. I came to her in my 5th month of pregnancy looking at online reviews of various patients of her. I conceived my twins in Germany and for my delivery I had to come to Kolkata and I needed a trustworthy and experienced doctor. Looking at the reviews I went to her and found out that she is very good at her job and at the same time she is very friendly and soft spoken. She is always available on WhatsApp for answering small small problems. She called me herself also couple of times whenever she felt it was important to guide me. She was very systematic throughout my pregnancy for various blood tests and sonographies. My experience of c section delivery was also very very good with her as she made it very comfortable for me. After delivery also, she took care of everything about my health and gave every possible suggestion. I am very much satisfied with her treatment and I have already suggested her name to somebody who asked me about a good gynecologist. I will also refer her name to people whoever will be in need.
